    NOT Copper

Order 2 strands of black and red. Students were installing and I noticed the funny color. Called and inquired and was assured over the phone it is copper. Adamantly stated that it was not right, but was never offered a solution besides "the judges probably won't check, ask for the head judge if there is a problem. I have tested and verified it is definitely aluminum. So angry! [AndyMark response - Just because it's not the color of copper, please don't think it's not copper. Here's a statement from our manufacturer: These wires have a 12-gauge 2-conductor parallel silicone wire core made with 680 strands of 0.08 mm tinned copper wire per conductor. Tinned copper wire offers better anti-oxidation performance, features high conductivity, lower resistance, reduces the production of heat, and has anti-aging properties. Bare copper resists oxidation well on its own, but if exposed to corrosive environments, it needs a little extra help. The layer of tin is in contact with the environment, including any moisture, corrosive agents or heat. Tin can better resist damage and corrosion and forms a barrier against oxygen. It keeps wear and tear at bay and allows the wire to maintain strong performance, even in environments that typically cause quick oxidation.]
