20 inch Nano Tubes work simultaneously as gearboxes and chassis structuring. The default ratio for Nano Tubes is a familiar standard ToughBox® ratio of 12.75:1, but has room for different ratios if additional gears are swapped out.
Two Shaft One Motor:
Two shaft one motor Nano Tubes are intended for a four-wheel-drive robot with two wheels powered and two wheels un-powered.
Two Shaft Two Motor:
Two shaft two motor Nano Tubes are intended as a four wheel drive robot with one motor paired with one gearbox and one wheel.
Three Shaft Two Motor:
Three shaft Nano Tubes are intended to be used as a complete drive module for the side of a 6-wheel-drive robot. The center shaft is slightly lower than the two outer shafts for better turning. These Nano Tubes have one of the end shafts powered via one motor while the center and remaining end shaft are both powered by the second motor.
Three Shaft Two Motor Fully Geared:
A fully geared Nano Tube while having the benefits of a drop-center shaft six-wheel-drive also shares the load amungs all three output shafts between both of the two motors.
Weight Reductions with Optional Parts:
Aluminum Large Output Gear can replace the standard steel 50 Tooth Large Output Gear.
Optional Encoder:
An optional Encoder Package can be purchased and added to this Toughbox. If you already have a US Digital Encoder to fit this Toughbox, this Encoder Mount Pad will help you mount the encoder to the Toughbox. Here is a guide for encoder installation and alignment.
