Mounting screws supplied are too big for the ToughBox Mini mounting holes
I haven't used the encoders yet since we just installed them. However, the installation job was made much harder trying to screw the supplied screws (machine bolts) into the Toughbox Mini mounting holes. The bolt diameter was slightly larger than the holes, so we couldn't get them started. Once we realized that the holes were not threaded, so we didn't have to worry about stripping them, we found slightly smaller bolts and were able to force them in. Small self-tapping screws (i.e., with a pointed end) would have been a much better provided screw.

Good but fragile
These work great on the standard kit of parts gearbox. The only problem is if the gearbox must be disassembled the encoder will be destroyed and must be replaced

Added to AM14U5 - BD56MB... mecanum drive
Added 2 of these to my home AM14U5 - mecanum robot. Reading wheel rotation on both wheels. Will be working on autonomous path following in the near future. Good job again Andy Mark.

Very useful
I'm using to be that came with Evo shifters, works great. When disassembled the transmission it moves and the signal is lower than the other mounted in the opposite side. Which is the measure between sensor and disc?

Great encoder for the Toughbox Mini
We have purchased at least 10 of these units. They mount easily. The documentation is great. A pair of newbie students can install one with minimal guidance.

Requires care to install
The install instructions are clear, but not foolproof. One of our students crushed the optical disc during install.
