Poor Workmanship
The hinged corners panels don't line up when folded - indicating the hinges aren't installed in parallel We had to request 4 replacement links as the holes were drilled so poorly they did not line up with the holes in the panels. offset in both the x and y axis. That shipment arrived with 1 replacement, resulting in a 2nd back-and-forth communication with customer service to have that mistake addressed as well. I am not impressed with the quality of construction/workmanship given the price. On the positive site - customer service did address the issue and gave us a discount on another purchase. (AndyMark response: Thank you for this feedback. We do check each field perimeter for quality as we assemble and pack. We will persist to check our processes and quality as we create these field perimeters. Sorry that we did not make these checks for your field perimeter.)

FTC fields of play
I had no problems with purchasing 2 FTC fields of play other than the field perimeter carry bags were not in stock. But I did get an email when they were back in inventory. So all is good there. But I did see that FTC field of play kits are now available which include some tools and tape at a $75 saving. It would have been good to have those just a bit earlier (like 3 weeks) to take advantage of the deal. I also wish there was a way for AndyMark to provide some sort of discount (like free shipping and/or maybe 5-10% off) for the FTC affiliate partners.

"I thought AM made a mistake with the quality of the field kit. I contacted the Cust. Service and with her suggestions realized it was my mistake. I did not remove the invisible film. AM was not defensive, nor did they treat me like an idiot, she was very courteous. They made me feel like I was the most important account they had. Thank you."

Keeps Orcs Out & Elves In
The perimeter was very well packed. The directions were easy to read for assemble. There was one corner angle that was slightly bent but I was never able to tell if it was bent in shipping or by the 7th graders who assembled the field.

"Overall the field kit is easy to assemble. There were a few rails that came bent which could not accommodate the bar inserts to hold the walls together. It could be designed better if the walls folded into a trifold and then attached in the corner with just a single longer pin."

Nice set to have
Other than some corners that must have gotten bent during shipping (making insertion of alignment bars difficult), the product seems very nice. Sturdy, but not too heavy and corner hinges seem heavy duty.

Perimeter kit
The perimeter kit I receive arrived with lots of dents and dings on it. I had to bend a few pieces back to make them straight. Holes were difficult to line up as a result. I think the pin construction is an improvement though over screws. (AndyMark response: We will contact you about this. It sounds like you may need some new pieces. These may have been damaged during shipping.)

Field kit was easy to out together. Our middle school FTC students put it together without any help from our mentors. Nice and sturdy perimeter. A lot better than our homemade one. Definitely worth the investment.

Perimeter Field Kit.
The directions to assemble it were quite minimal! I’m still not sure we have it put together correctly. However, the ease of ordering was great! They take PO's.!!!! Their customer service rep was really nice and very helpful. This was my first time to actually place the order - it couldn't have been easier! Thank you for taking P.O's :)

Our field rocks
We bought a field for general outreach in the Minneapolis area. Evan Hochstein from FIRST helped us put it in, and noticed some parts missing and 2 bent in the mail. Danny sent us everything to finish off our field within the week. Thanks Danny!

Bad Machined parts and instruction guide poor.
Instructions for the field regarding the belts was unclear - do these go over the tiles or under the tiles. If they go under, we don't know how the tiles will fit, if they go over, then it interferes with the game. Confused. Might be a good idea to give instructions for field perimeter and soft tiles together. The product machining is poor. Many of the field perimeter sections had bent ends. We had to straighten out all the metal parts before we could even attempt putting them together. The metal pieces that slide between two perimeter panels were difficult to slide in 50% of them. Two of them did not line up with the holes correctly no matter which way we put. Finally had to drill two additional holes.

TRADE OFF - STURDY VS. EASY
The new perimeter is light weight and easy to assemble. I even found a wheeled cart in which to store it and schlep it around which makes it pretty darn attractive. Unfortunately there are some trade-offs. The rails bend easily preventing you from inserting the shaft that holds the two sections together. Thus it is not tool-free. You have to keep such things as pliers and a hammer handy to adjust the rail opening. Also, with just one fairly gentle use the acrylic sides have already cracked. Right now, I like easy over sturdy just because I (a little old lady) can set it up by myself. If I find after one tournament, I have to replace all the acrylic, I may rethink it.
