    "Perfect solution - some tips"

"I believe Anderson Powerpole connectors are the best for DC power wiring. We use an AndyCrimp Pro tool which crimps the 45A (and lower) terminals but also crimp the 75A terminals onto 6AWG wire as used in the SB50 connectors. It's best to have a "powerpole insertion extraction" (can google it to find vendors) on hand - which goes for around $10 to $15. Some wires, such as the super flexible ones coming off the Talon SRX motor controllers can be challenging. The insulation is really thick and is tight into the end of the connector housing. Therefore, it's best to strip enough insulation away so that it's right at the edge of the housing. The insertion tool helps out a lot with this wire. I've found it easier to crimp multiple times and one of those times to include the insulation. Never call a connector done if you didn't hear the click as it will eventually get pushed back, slide back, and not make an electrical connection reliably. "

    Unreliable - difficult to use

Our students had trouble inserting the crimped metal contact all the way into the plastic housing. More than one of the metal contacts worked themselves loose even after they were fully inserted by an adult mentor. We cut it off and replaced it with simple space connectors after it failed during the regional competition. (**AndyMark Response: A good solid crimp and straight pin will help ensure the pins are able to be inserted until a click is heard. A cut away view of this is found on the Pictures Tab of the product.)

    "Anderson Power Pole"

"Pros: Cost effective Stackable with different orientations High current relative to the cost Lots of different retail outlets Crimp tool is inexpensive Multiple colors available Cons: Not water resistant You must use a wire size big enough for the terminal you have Difficult to insert into the housing with smaller wires Sometimes the retaining spring has to be pried up to retain the terminal You need to know how to assemble it so Google "Anderson Power Pole Assembly". I strongly recommend buying the crimp tool that is intended for these terminals The TRIcrimp tool is available online for about 40 You can use the color code to indicate different voltages, we use orange for 5V (orange = 5 in resistor color code). Also a drop of CyanoAcrylate in the dovetail will hold them together The pins that come in the kit have a tendency to fall out and short circuit something important. (**AndyMark Response: Fantastic Review, Thank you! The TRIcrimp power poll tool is also available here, the link can be found above in the description, or use the search. We now have included a link to Assembly instructions under 'Files & Documents', be sure the terminals 'click' in when installing.)"

    Great Quick Connect connectors

These are great high amperage connectors that can be used from your motor controller to motors. They have remained connected throughout our last competition and we will continue to use these in the future.

    Essential for FTC teams

Anderson Power Pole connectors are far more reliable than the stock Tetrix battery connector. Installation is easy if you get the recommended crimper.

    "Perfect for FRC robots."

"I just started using these connectors in the past off-season and I'm going to recommend to our team that we use them in ALL of our electrical connections. When the crimped connector is pushed into the housing, it clicks into place and doesn't move. I use the permanently bonded pairs available from Powerwerx website and add a retaining clip. Consider also that they are genderless, so no fooling around with M/F sets. Using the pre-bonded connectors there is no way to reverse polarity. These connections will NOT move even in the roughest conditions, they are military grade and I can't speak more highly about them."

Works as advertised, worth the expense

Not sure they are any better than simple connectors you can buy at Walmart, but they do the job as advertised.
