Product Overview

This is an adapter to convert the female spline output of the Bosch Seat Motor (am-3493) to a 2 in. long 0.5 in. hex shaft. The square end interfaces with the female spline of the motor and is retained by an included 6-32 screw and washer. Our testing shows that in a back-drive situation the worm gear in the gearbox will fail before the motor spline or this adapter.

Big help in integrating the Bosch Motor

This shaft is an excellent solution for integrating the Bosch motor into a robot. There is only one problem I had. I suspect the dimensions for the shaft were specified without considering the plating thickness. I had to mill off part of the square shaft in order to get it to fit into the motor gear. I also had to shave the corners of the hex in order to get it to fit into the hex bearings. I appreciate that curvature was used at the transition from square to hex to avoid stress concentrations at that location. Generally a good design. It also comes with a washer and 6-32 screw to hold the shaft in place.

Well made and fits the final gear of the motor with a snug interference fit. Have not put it under load, yet.
